Take the 100 Rep Challenge, daily
So many people say that they don't have time to train. This doesn't need to be the case, as revolution has landed.
THE 100 REP CHALLENGE
The idea behind the 100 rep challenge is that every day you do 100 reps, now this sounds daunting but the way this has been structured it is achievable but challenging to each and every person. The idea is this you build the 100 reps in to a pattern (you all know how much I like patterns), well the simplest format of the challenge is to take 2 exercises for instance a press up and a squat.
The pattern then runs like this 1 press up, 1 squat, 2 press ups, 2 squats, 3 press ups ....... all the way to 10 press ups, 10 squats and the back down again so 9 press ups, 9 squats, 8 press ups.......
The pattern above is fairly basic but this is adjustable to every goal that people have by adjusting the exercises so if you are looking for a more challenging routine why not try out Tiger press ups and Donkey kick tuck jump burpees!
Another great attribute to this type of training is that each section does not need to be an exercise, for instance if you have a shoulder injury you could make one of the exercises a stretch to help the injury or you could make it a breathing exercise.
Another nice variation of this drill can be to do just one exercise but with a partner, you both take it in turns to do the exercise (which should be more taxing) and whilst your training partner repeats the drill you rest.
This drill is so versatile and has been inspired by Rannoch Donald a great trainer in Edinburgh, if you are interested in checking out his web site it is www.simplestrength.com or his 100 rep challenge site which is coming soon www.100repchallenge.com but you can going the facebook group facebook.com/100-Rep-Challenge
There are many trainers I know and massively respect that have taken this up and run with this idea and would be well worth you checking out their web sites and blogs such as:
CJ Swaby (CJS Fitness) [vs Bartendaz]
Steve Cotter (IKFF) - I have been given 100 rep challenges by Steve before and I know for all of these trainers Steve is an iconic figure in the industry.
and of course the God father of the 100 rep Challenge Rannoch Donald (Simple Strength)
